Can Man Survive On Cold Cereal Alone?

So Bo doesn't enjoy alot of foods not involving sugar. In efforts to balance out his intake of left over Christmas stocking candy and "fruit" snacks-- and perhaps even add a few vitamins, I've found he does like a good bowl of rice krispies or corn flakes. I've also found cereal to be possibly the fastest to prepare, and easiest to clean up, of all afternoon snacks as well. In addition.. I've discovered last minute before-bed-time hunger pains are ALSO most efficiently dealt with, with a hearty bowl of wheat chex (and hey! Fiber to boot.) So my question to you.. the blogging world-- is this: If on occasion, (and by occasion, I mean at LEAST 3 times a week)the boy eats nothing but cereal.. with a banana or grapefruit tossed in now and again.. will he be developing any deficiencies or bizarre behavior patterns I should be aware of??

All I can say is he's lucky to get cereal! If he lived here he would go hungry! We only eat when everyone else eats and what everyone else eats or you go hungry. Ask Tiler he has gone to bed hungry many times!!

hey katy! okay, I promise I'm not stalking you, (first facebook, now the blogging world)- so I hope you don't mind the barge, but I was riding the blog-wave and found yours as I was looking at Lisa's. your family is gorgeous (no surprise!), your writing style has me in stitches, and yes, you definitely have the cutest ski coat on the slopes.

He is going to grow up beautiful and strong. Cereal is a fantastic snack. If only my snacks were as healthy and vitamin fortified.
BTW, is it okay if I link your blog on mine? I want to make it easier for Keith and me to check up on you.

I think you're nice to be offering something he'll eat. Wheat Chex sounds pretty healthy. I'm sure he's getting a lot of vitamins - just look at the side of the box and tell yourself kids in Bangladesh live on rice and bugs and give yourself a break!

I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm not sure my children could be described as "normal". Jacob is like a newborn right now...has to be fed every 2-3 hours or he goes into his "I'm so weak" act. I've never seen a child starve themselves to death...and corn flakes and a banana meet all my food group needs.

Now this is a post for me!! I love cold cereal!! If he was mine, I would be giving him a pat on the back, and letting him know what a good eater he was!!!!haha! No really! I wish my kids liked it more, but around here it's strictly breakfast! Even then, Ryan makes his own food....eggs...and a lot of them!! You really are an awesome mom!! I love how you talk about your kids!

Oh dear cousin, when my husband is away (I'm talkin months at a time) there are times when all a mother can do for her own sanity is feed her children cold cereal for dinner (maybe an occasional bagel) at least three times a week for dinner. And look they have all been OK so far, right? I mean, at least they are ALIVE and that is better than not. (PS I just cut Mia's hair because it is always driving me crazy and now it kinda looks like your adorable daughter's hair so I think about your cute Sophie when I look at her.)

Hey Katy-Sometimes when I'm feeling in a super ambitious mood, we go to the store and each child gets to pick out their favorite box of cereal for dinner. We come home and all share the different varieties. It is one of my kids favorite things to do. So--- yes man can live on cold cereal alone.

Cold cereal is the food of choice at this house. Nothing better than a good cold ceral sale at the store. Let him eat.... He is still going to have that cute little smile of his that will get him just about anything.

Well I can only say that I have a bunch of kids that have survived on cereal at times for their 3 square meals. It's a better snack than cookies, right?
