So... I Guess This Is NOT, My Forte.

Some of you may have noticed Janas blog, where per my request-- she posted her latest Maceys receipt. I believe she spent around $80.00, for 3 weeks of food.
Amazing, right?
So here's mine.

Amazing.. right?
Now granted.. I took out $20.00 cash, and needed a few batteries.
But for the other $250.00 bucks, I'm pretty sure I came home with maybe 3 full meals.. and some fruit snacks. (Oh. And Red Hot Blue Chips. Always grab a bag of those-- on sale or not-- and usually have half the bag gone by check-out.)
I have either gotta get my "budget-face" back on.. or should get a REALLY good job.

You're getting there!! Keep working on it... believe me I didn't get to where I am without a TON of planning and organizing.

I was checking out my cousin, Amy's blog, and following links to what I thought were my other cousins... And I saw your receipt... WOW! :-)

I have a blog on couponing and finding deals. It's centsofsavings.blogspot.com. Check it out!

I am not such a good grocery shopper...I would rather sacrifice every other column in our budget to "pad" that one. Totally worth it when I am eating Machego cheese and Cape Cod chicken salad late into the night....with a Twix ice cream bar to finish it off.

Did that include the lobster? I am dreading my boys growing appetites.

Coupons, coupons, coupons!! I'm tellin ya Katy its so addicting my friend and I agreed thgat if we became rich we would still coupon clip for the rush! Yes sounds gay I know but when you go to the store and have $361 worth od grocerys for $71 you kinda get on a little bit of a high! And honestly not that much work at all and obviously well worth it...This week free Electraso dish detergent and Kellogs cereal & o did i mention all my free TOOTHPASTE,and DEODERANT..i will stop now, but could go on and on forever! Try it youll love it! One last item Bettt crocker cookie pouches .50..yeah thats right!

Hey, we've all got our forte's alright? Yours just may not be money management or stretching your dollar at the grocery store. But I can attest you've got plenty other talents/skills many would love to have!

I remember going shopping with Mo once as a kid, seeing the bill and thinking, "Either we just bought a year supply of food or we are billionaires!!" I could not believe what it took to feed a family of 9. You are just doing your job, hot chips and all.

I fully support eating well. I'm with Emily...I'll go naked before I give up my hummus and frozen yogurt. This is not my forte either...you should see what I spend on books in a year! That would make you feel LOTS better.

Don't get me started on the roller coaster of a shopping year I've had! I've done grocerysmarts.com, and I've messed up a lot of times and come home only having saved $4 out of the $100 spent. Bottom line, I like fresh foods and am not willing to try all manner of deodorants that are on sale when I know mine works the best for me! I'm better off shopping the adds--no coupons--but the trick is to not get anything extra. I believe grocery stores call people like that "barnacles." I love that my Target bills are always too high and pretty much every item on my receipt is under $5. Nice.
I love your Mother's day post--what a good family you have!
