Multi-tasking. It's A Gift.

Tonight, between approximately 9:00 and 9:15.. I:
1. Bathed a child.
2. Boiled, prepared, and served, pasta.
(I know.. late dinner. But dinner none the less.)
3. Threw in some laundry.
4. Changed the sheets on Sophies bed.
and
5. Fixed a shelf full of toys that collapsed in the process.

Impressed?

Very. Ya know those moments where you could nit-pick at hubby and choose not to? I was watching him do one task at a time and the nit-picky me wanted to tell him he could technically be doing three things at once...but I knew better. I think we as women with our information super-highway brain waves cannot help but multi-task. And our sweet husbands are driving a tractor down a one lane country road. (I mean that in the kindest way:)

You are super woman. Sometimes I can multi-task and sometimes I just sit with a dreamy, far-off look on my face and watch the world go by. My brain can't decide if it's going to hold on to the frantic, fast-paced lifestyle of my 20's or just go ahead and embrace the memory lapses waiting for me in my 40's. We're trying them both out...

What? You didn't take time to stuff something sweet into your mouth as you passed by the kitchen sink? Crumbs contained and energy sustained.

I'm kind of glad I'm slowing down at this point. Just reading your blog wears me out! I used to do it....

a male instructor once told me that it is physically impossible for the brain to focus on more than one activity at a time. that multi-tasking is a myth.

i laughed and laughed and laughed. when i stopped laughing, i wiped the tears from my eyes, and then proceeded to burst into laughter once again.

i walked away from said man, still laughing. as a matter of fact, i just started laughing once again.
