Apparantly, My Pants Are NOT Flattering.

Tonight, as I pulled on my navy blue velour drawstring pants from circa 2002 (because, let's face it.. not alot fits over the 2 layers of bandage wrap on my post varicose leg..) Sophie observed from the bed. When I finally had them up and on with matching jacket in place.. she clearly stated,
"Mom. Those pants do not look cute on you."
Good to know. Good to know.

You've got to love the brutally honest opinions of children! I think they looked great :)

Ok, that's hillarious! How could anything NOT look good on you! Kids crack me up with the things that they say!

I've found that having a daughter as a fashion critic does help me not get stuck in a mom-rut though. Although I question her wisdom at times, she does try to keep me with the times.

I think I might have actually cried...I make it a point never to ask my kids how I look (unless I KNOW I look awesome.)

thanks for coming out and relieving at least one little piece of my insanity.
i knew amy's family in boston around the high school years.
your blog is funny. thanks a lot. now i'll probably want to read it. and that will cause me to break my vow. and then i'll feel guilt for not being stronger in my resolve. but the guilt should be assuaged by the entertainment i will find here.

At least you weren't wearing "Mom Jeans". Velour is totally cool soccer-mom attire.

Andrea, Katy is well-worth your time and commitment-breaking. She's one of my favorite cousins of all time. :)

I was on cloud nine the other day when Cubby told me I was pretty bc--kids don't lie about that stuff, right? Well, today he told me my hair was "all crazy." Now exactly what does that mean, is that a good thing to a three year old boy? I'm so sorry you had to hear that, but now you know she'll keep you on the straight and narrow--and you'll appreciate it when you're senial, right? I'm kind of wishing there was a picture of you in said velour to accompany this little ditty...

Just think how incredibly cute you'll feel when she tells you how cute you look in something. I don't let me kids make any comments about the way I look. It is a standing rule in our house.
