This Is What FUN Looks Like!

There's nothing NOT fun about Chuck E. Cheese's..
except ofcourse.. Chuck E. Cheese, himself.
This was Sophies reaction on our way out, when the huge hairy mouse caught her off guard.
Luckily the larger-than-life turn-your-poop-green popsicle she's waving.. was enough of a distraction to get her happy and back to licking before long.
Chuck E. Cheese.. "Where a Kid Can be a Terrified, Kid."

I completely understand what you mean. Motherhood is full of so many of these moments... so many good intentions, and no way of knowing just how it will all turn out.

I've been there done that!! We use to go to old country buffet in WA and there mascot was a BEE!! Huge scarry bee! My kids would cry even if he was at the other side of the restruant!!

I really wish I could have captured the look of total terror in her face when she first turned around and bolted the other direction from Chuck E. (hey, maybe that's where the whole freaky Chucky movie idea originated). Not that I like the idea of little Sophie scared to death, but the fact that it was over a giant, stuffed, smiling mouse is the funny part of it all. Not sure if I'll ever be able to clear that memory out of my overstuffed-with-less-than-important-things brain!

That is one for the scrapbooks. That's how my kids usually react to dogs right after they ask me if they can have a dog.

I'm convinced my poor husband had some childhood trauma at the place...he won't even entertain the idea of taking the kids. And I'm not brave enough to do it alone. Poor deprived Carr kids...cause they'd kill for one of those popsicles!

Can I just tell you, I really hate Chuck-E-Cheese. The place is bizarre--you can't fake fun, but they try. (I'm with Sophie on this one!)
