You Say Television Is Having An Effect On Our Children?

Today Sophie said..
"Mom, there's an iron.. (referring to a flat iron for hair, of course..)
that's on T.V., that is better than our pink one."
(She was referring to our new 'pink dazzle' CHI. I bought it drug-deal style on the side of the road in downtown Salt Lake from a parked black car, for $35.00. I do live on the edge.)
"Oh, it's better?" I responded.. "How come?"
"Because," she continued,
"it looks like you walked out of a salon everyday."

Very cute pic, fits the post perfectly, like she really is pondering the benefits of the tv's "iron." Oh how influenced our kids are by what they see on the commercials and infomercials, not to mention the shows! I'll never forget when my kids would not stop telling me how badly we needed the Swiffer Sweeper and would recite the entire thing verbatim!

That is hilarious! My sweet father went through a phase where he must have been having trouble sleeping at night because we kept getting random packages in the mail...things he had ordered off the infomercials he was watching late at night. Just make sure she doesn't have your credit card number handy...

That sounds like my kids, do you get the shot of guilt that hits you when you realize how much t.v. they really do watch? I have to agree though that it would be hard to say no to that sweet little face, so do you now have two flat irons?!!
